You can hear from app reviewers and happy users:

"Not only are these tools functional, theyre also gorgeous, with woodgrain and lighting effects that makes them seem straight out of Leonardo da Vincis workshop." - OReilly Media, "Best iPhone Apps"

"Fathers Day App for Your #1 Dad" - CNN

"Really handy and I like the style of the user experience a lot. Im a picky user but I have to say these tools are nicely done and worth the price." - our customer

There are 5 tools in this Carpenter toolkit:
- A plumb bob, the easiest way for you to verify the verticality of lines or walls
- A surface level, the best tool to level any flat surface
-a bubble level bar, exactly like what you see in a woodworking shop but more attractive.
- A steel protractor, measuring angles from 0 to 180 degrees.
- A steel ruler, supporting both inches and centimeters. By swiping it left and right, the ruler is capable to measure things much longer than your iPhone!
- Once calibrated, the plumb bob, surface level and level bar can also be used as an inclinometer/clinometer by reading the angles on the screen.

Enjoy!

A few tips for better use of iHandy Carpenter:

- THE PLUMB BOB, SURFACE LEVEL AND BUBBLE LEVEL BAR
Calibrate it first before any serious usage!

- USE THE PLUMB BOB TO MEASURE THE VERTICALITY OF A WALL

Two ways to test the verticality of a wall:
1. Put your iPhone back-to-back onto the wall you measure (Recommended).
If the shadow of the plumb bob is on the X-axis (y equals zero), it then indicates your wall is perfectly straight and vertical to the ground. Please note that in this way the reading of "X" does NOT have to be zero.
The back of iPhone is not totally flat due to the camera bump. But its accurate enough just to use the flat part of your iPhone.

2. Put one edge of your iPhone on the wall you measure.
If the shadow of the plumb bob is on the Y-axis (x equals zero), it then indicates your wall is perfectly straight and vertical to the ground. Please note that in this way the reading of "Y" does NOT have to be zero.

- HOW TO MEASURE THE SLOPE OF A SURFACE
A few ways to measure the slope of a surface:
1. Use the Surface Level (Recommended).
Put your iPhone onto the inclined surface (The edge of iPhone should be in line with the slope direction of the surface. To verify this, just to check whether the reading of "y" is around zero).
The reading of "x" is the slope angle of the measured surface.

2. Use the bubble level bar
Put one edge or back of your iPhone stick to the inclined surface (The edge of iPhone should be in line with the slope direction of the surface).
The reading is the slope angle of the measured surface.

If the surface is almost vertical to the ground, we suggest that you use the plumb bob tool to measure the surface instead.

Pros and cons of iHandy Carpenter app for iPhone and iPad

iHandy Carpenter app good for

I used it to instal a satellite antenna who must be oriented by a number of degrees, on a specific position.
Good day! This app is extremely super good is I she can recommend I very also very precisely but the entire advertising here to yourself sucks extremely the total pressure this app just completely without a single advertisement would be even extreme super extreme much better just because very well and they meant only for iPhone just all just she must be quite here to adjust itself for the mini pad 3 64 GB just here all just a general just here to take overhaul feel quite so also these customers to use even this all just just and I am to two variants of this there is also what not used the customer just in itself even just only an app to do this all just select can just completely then if you already bought it that is missing here is quite strong just about all just to this this gap to close it completely even just across from, there must be an update here just quite well to this app can just just to use all of too efficient to yourself that even
Useful apps to have when the right tools are not around. Used it often for a quick check on level and measurements.
This is a very handy app, great features and easy to use; the only complaint I have is that its not available on the iPad. PLEASE make iHandy Carpenter available for the iPad. A bigger screen means less strain on the eyes, easier to share whats on the screen with those around you; bigger screen enables you to see more without having to scroll up, down, right, or left. Not to mention the abundant of additional features that can be added to better enhance the app thus enhance user experience. Also its great to have your apps on ALL your devices, especially when you might not have your iPhone with you or for the times the battery on your iPhone is dead, being used by someone else, lost or stolen. All in all there are many benefits to having the iHandy Carpenter app available on the iPad.
This is a very useful app for the weekend carpenter. It is so handy because it fits in your pocket and ready to use when you need it! Easy to use tools that are included.
Woodworking tools on my iPhone? Who would have expected it? The app isnt one Ill use every day, but when I need it its incredibly useful. And the price is great!

Some bad moments

Why would a paid app that should run offline keep asking for access to data services? Getting kick backs from carriers for using up my data?
The ruler is all but useless, the advert is misleading. Not an endless ruler that one could possibly actually accurately measure with.
Did anyone actually try using these tools before rating the program? I guess it looks neat
The app looks nice, but sadly the ruler is completely inaccurate when zoom mode is enabled on my iPhone 6+. And unfortunately the phone needs to be restarted in order to change this setting, so the software is currently of limited value. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future version.
Pretty ruler, reason purchased app, not useable as cant seem to be able to lock in a start point to get measurement longer than the iPhone screen , sweeping the numbers on the screen is neat, but doesnt help measure a four one half foot board. Whats the secret ?
Five star when you fix for iPhone 7plus. Till then you get one star. Keep up the good work.
